Behind the team with Gony Zubizarreta

1. How do you prepare for your winter season? 

I try to keep the rhythm throughout the summer and when winter arrives, be ready for solid swells at home… training in the gym with Ruben Francisco has been helping me a lot lately, specially whilst recovering from a shoulder and knee injury.

2. Any upcoming trip you are excited about? 

I am Super excited about a trip to California at the end of the month to visit some good old friends and surf a bit.

3. Must-have winter Deeply wetsuit? 

Limitless Frost 5/3 Zipperless is my favorite for the colder days. Super warm and comfy without losing mobility. I love it!

4. Are you involved in any sustainability or ocean related program? 

I’m involved in Wasted Shoes project which is a Spanish brand making vegan shoes, all produced in Spain and Portugal with natural materials. Also collaborate with WE sustainability when I can, doing beach cleanups around Galicia.

5. Favorite winter surf break in Europe? 

My favorite is Pico de Patos and a few hidden waves in Ericeira and the Algarve.
